Ben wanted to fuel up and get pumped out at Kingston Marina before going under the fixed bridge, to get a little more weight and clearance. In the US and Bahamas, when we fuel up, diesel boats can pump their own and stay on board. At this marina, or possibly in Canada (?) they pump it and ask everyone to be off the boat, despite being diesel. It was a hot day to choose to sit out in the sun with no shade!
We made it, with plenty of room to spare, under the fixed bridge. Hailed the marina on the radio, got our slip assignment, and docked at Confederation Park City Marina, in Kingston, ON.
My goal was to get our dirty laundry situation under control before we could do anything else. I ran 2 (very expensive- $6.75 to wash and dry 1 load) loads of laundry and then we went to get some dinner.
Kingston is so cute to walk around and see, too! I haven't been disappointed in any of the Canadian cities or towns we've stopped in. The history, architecture, and hustle and bustle of it all is always so entertaining to look at.
We walked to a hole-in-the-wall restaurant, Original Bubbas. They only had seating for a few people and was hot inside, so we took it to go and planned on finding somewhere outside to eat. We ordered a few more specialty poutines to share- Chicken Caesar, Buffalo Chicken, Pulled Pork, and Onion Ring (it used onion rings instead of fries as the base). The lady helping us out said that Moose was good-looking, like Justin Bieber, and that he would be trouble in a few years. Ben told her that he already is. 🤣
We walked to Confederation Park by the marina and ate there, at a picnic table in front of the large Kingston sign. Pulled Pork was the favorite for Bear and Roo. Buffalo Chicken was the favorite for Moose and me. Ben's favorite was Chicken Caesar. When we came back to the boat, we turned on game 5, only to remember that tomorrow is Tuesday. Oops. Off to bed!
The next morning, we woke up and got everyone bathed before heading out to breakfast in Kingston. Originally we planned on going to Beaver Tails, but they didnt open until 12 and we had to leave before then.
I found a sit down café that was a quarter of a mile away and seemed like we'd enjoy, Pan Chancho. The girls shared a kids French toast and a giant partfait. Moose had a croissant breakfast sandwich with a fruit salad. Ben had the Chancho. I had the Feta 2.0 which was a baguette with feta, olive oil, peppercorn, and honey. I went out on a limb and was really happy I did! Everyone cleaned their plate.
On the walk back, we stopped and took a family Kingston photo and then pushed off the dock around 11:15 am. That's late for us!
