Keith took their rental car back to Enterprise and used one of our ebikes to bike back. Lori spotted him as we got to the parking lot, so he joined us for coffee and our walk back. The boys took turns on the ebike on the way back to the boat.
We started engines, dropped lines, moved fenders. We went a short distance to the pump out dock (right by Northern Perk where we just were for coffee) and Lori & Keith learned to tie some lines, and we were underway.
Lori brought the kids some cross stitching I ordered because when Bear started hers a few weeks ago they were sad to jot have their own. Lori taught Roo. I taught Moose. Bear continued her own. I worked a bit on mine as well. It's such a great activity while we are underway.
Hangdog Channel was interesting. It was a very narrow, twisting channel between large areas of granite in the water that Ben navigated with ease while I held my breath and went into the cabin after popping out to see what everyone was gasping about. We talked about how the rocks looked like hippos hanging out in the water with their round, smooth, wet surfaces.
Shortly after we anchored, Roo saw a snake in the water.
We met other loopers, Susan and Bill on Soul Shine, who told us they were off to look for blueberries.
The 9 of us loaded into the tender and went off to explore and hunt for blueberries. Everyone hopped off the tender and all but Ben and I searched for blueberries. Lori and I enjoyed looking at the cool patterns and textures in the rocks.
The adults decided we'd rather explore a bit more of the waterway, so we went a little bit further in the tender before realizing there wasn't much more to see due to shallow, rocky areas.
We returned to get the kids and dropped the youngest 4 back on the Cartermaran before the adults tendered over to check out Soul Shine. While we were there, Susan and Bill came back and we chatted with them for a long time. We giggled about how the Canadians seem to jump into the cold water and stay in for a while like its nothing. We could remember saying the same thing about beaches in Florida in the winter- Who goes in the water in the winter? Oh, the Canadians!
We could see and hear the kids fishing from where we were and they commented several times about being able to hear us.
After chatting with them for a while about everything we and they've done so far, we made it back to the Cartermaran, had dinner, and went to bed.
